A Stranger In A Land That’s Not Theirs

Four Hundred Years Affliction

Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years.

According to the scriptures, our forefathers were in Egypt four hundred and thirty years.

They did not enter into Egypt as slaves.  They also understood the language of the Egyptians.

They dwelt safely for a long time in Egypt, in the land of Goshen.

The land of Egypt is before thee; in the best of the land make thy father and brethren to dwell; in the land of Goshen let them dwell: and if thou knowest any men of activity among them, then make them rulers over my cattle.
And Israel dwelt in the land of Egypt, in the country of Goshen; and they had possessions therein, and grew, and multiplied exceedingly.

10 Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.

11 Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses.

12 But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel.

13 And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour:

We as the Children of Israel, lived well in the land of Egypt until after the death of Joseph.
When we began to multiply in the land of Egypt, the king of Egypt that did not know Joseph decided to afflict us.
So, when we went into Egypt the first time, we did not go there as bondmen and bondwomen.  We went into Egypt the first time free to live as we please.
However, later on, we were made to serve with rigour.  And the LORD did deliver us by the hand of Moses.
But the LORD Himself will come with His Holy Angels to deliver us from this bondage and this Egypt in the land of our captivity.
He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
So the Holy One of Israel will judge this nation that enslaved us and they shall go into captivity.
And just as we came out of Egypt the first time with great substance, so shall we come out of Egypt again with great substance.
