When Time Has Come To An End, Eternity Will Begin
This life is not forever. We have maybe 70-90 years here on this earth. I know we think that is an eternity sometimes. But you and I both know that is not long at all, especially as we get closer to that higher number.
Psalm 90:12 – So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Let me tell you something. Whether you enter into the Kingdom of God or be cast into the lake of fire. We are going to spend more time in eternity than in this present body.
Matthew 10:28 – And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Don’t be like Martha:
Luke 10:38-42 – 38 Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. 40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. 41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: 42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
What are you putting first in your life. If it is not the Word of God, your priorities are screwed up.
Let me tell you something and you might not like it. But you need to choose and stop half-stepping.
Matthew 13:21 – Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
As we get closer and closer to the Day of the Lord Jesus Christ, this life is going to get harder and harder. So we just have to make up our minds and surrender all of our life to Him right now.
Deuteronomy 6:4-9 – 4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: 5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. 9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
What are you putting first?
Luke 12:15 – 15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
Luke 12:34 – 34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
The Lord has given us all work to do. We must be about our Father’s business. We are here to serve Him, not ourselves. It’s not about us.
Luke 12:36-40 – 36 And ye yourselves be like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately. 37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. 38 And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. 39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. 40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
We must be willing to go through the fire. I know it might not feel good to our flesh. That’s why we have fast and pray. We must endure hardness as a good solider.
Zechariah 13:9 – And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.
The bible says, the Lord chasten those whom He love as Father chastens his son. Sometimes you might feel like you want to quit and give up. That’s why we have the Holy Ghost to comfort us.
The people that are the closest to you will become your worst enemies. You still have to walk in love towards them.
Luke 12:49-56 – 49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? 50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished! 51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: 52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. 53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 54 And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is. 55 And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass. 56 Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?
