What does last will and testament mean?
Last Will and Testament is a legal document that communicates a person’s final wishes pertaining to possession and dependents.
The Bible has an Old Testament and a New Testament.
I know we like to call them the Old Covenant and the New Covenant, BUT THEY ARE, What They Are Called: Old Testament and New Testament for a Reason.
So, if that is the case, the natural question arises, Whose Testament?
To whom does these Testaments pertain to or belong to?
The answer is that they (The Old Testament and the New Testament) belong to GOD ALMIGHTY.
Look at it from the natural perspective. If you or I were to die, the question would arise, “Did they have a last will and testament?”
So again, what is a testament? A Last Will and Testament is a Testimony of someone’s final wishes pertaining to their possession and dependents.
So, what is the LORD GOD’s possession and dependents?
Psalm 24:1 The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
So, from the bible’s perspective, the Old Testament and the New Testament is the LORD GOD’s Testimony; It is GOD’s Last Will and Testament for His final wishes pertaining to His possession and dependents.
So, you may be wondering, Then Why does God have two, Last Will and Testament?
That’s a good question and I’m glad you asked.
Another question is, So, does that mean that God died twice, since there are two testaments?
The answer is yes, and I am going to prove it.
Romans 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
Romans 5:17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
The Old Testament is for Adam and the New Testament is for Jesus.
Both Adam and Jesus are the Sons of God.
Both Adam and Jesus died so that is why both of them have to have a Last Will and Testament and that is why the Bible has an Old Testament and a New Testament.
The Old Testament is Adam’s Testimony of his Last Will and Testament.
The New Testament is Jesus’ Testimony of his Last Will and Testament.
They both are testifying that they lived and that this is their Last Will and Testament.
In the beginning God created man in his image; Male and female created He them in His likeness.
What does that mean? It literally means that God created himself (if you can accept or receive it).
God gave himself dominion over all things in the earth and said to himself, be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth.
The LORD GOD commanded himself to not eat from the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil; For in the day that he eat from that tree he would surely die.
This is GOD’s testimony of himself as Adam.
So, what happened? Adam lived, and Adam died. Why? Because Adam disobeyed the Command of the Word of God.
So, the Old Testament is the Account; The Reckoning of what happened in the life of Adam; His testimony. The Old Testament is Adam’s Last Will and Testament.
Genesis 12:7 And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the Lord, who appeared unto him.
In Adam’s Testimony, Land has been left unto his seed.
But you may say, this was God speaking to Abram. Yes, you are correct. It is the LORD GOD speaking to Abram. (But you must understand this is Adam). (Adam is man). (Man was created in the image of God). (God created himself).
So, man (Adam) was testifying that there is land that must be given unto his seed.
Again, man (Adam) testified concerning his last will and testament.
Psalm 16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
Adam’s testimony is two-fold. He knew where he was going to end up because he disobeyed the voice and the command of GOD.
But at the same time. He testified that GOD would not suffer his HOLY ONE to see corruption.
Adam prophesied about Christ.
You may be saying, that was David speaking. Yes, you are correct it was David speaking, but you must also understand that this is also Adam. What do I mean by that. (Adam is man). (Man was created in the image of God). (God created himself).
So, the Old Testament is Adam’s (Man’s) Last Will and Testament.
So, likewise, the New Testament is the Last Will and Testament of the LORD JESUS CHRIST, the Holy One of Israel.
The LORD Jesus is literally testifying about His Life. He is giving his testimony. He is giving the Account as it happened and what will happen after His Death.
Mark 9:31 For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.
And so, it was, and so it is.
John 6:39 And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Jesus himself tells us that this is the Father’s will (Last Will and Testament) that of all which the Father has given unto Him, that He (JESUS CHRIST) should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day, and that everyone which see the Son and believe on him, may have everlasting life, and again, He will raise him up at the last day.
Revelation 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
Revelation 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
Revelation 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
So now you see, The Old and New Testament are the Last Will and Testament of the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY.
